We offer Religious Education for people of all ages and all states of Christian Life. Those who are adults seeking to join the Church, or perhaps just with questions about her, clickhere.
We are working on building our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Atrium (program). Right now, we offer a mixed CGS/Montessori style program for ages 3-5, who are potty-trained.
We offer conventional Faith Formation for grades 1-12. 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 8th grades are considered part of Sacramental Preparation (see more below). 1st-5th Grades use Discover! by Saint Mary's Press, which is an interactive Biblical and Liturgical based curriculum. 6th-8th grades use Connect by Saint Mary's Press, which is an interactive Biblical and Liturgical based curriculum. 9th-12th grades are taught the subject they want to learn. Children registered for conventional Faith Formation receive a Bible (their first year in the program), a folder with the student text, a calendar for the year, and a backpack.
We offer home school as well, for grades 1, 3-7. Parents who wish to home school Faith Formation use the conventional parish program. Otherwise, they MUST use a USCCB approved curriculum, as well as one approved by the Pastor and RDRE.
Sacramental Preparation is a two year process. Year 1 (1st and 7th grades) is 'remote' catechesis. Essentially, they are required to learn general faith formation either through a Catholic school, parish program, or home school. Year 2 (2nd and 8th grades) is 'immediate' catechesis. In addition to general faith formation, through Catholic school or a parish program, they must also participate in parish sacramental preparation. Registration for sacramental preparation must be done in person at a Parent Meeting. Dates are below and in the bulletin. Catholic school children will be provided their Bible at sacramental preparation. All 2nd and 8th graders will be provided the curriculum at the first class.
All families registered for parish programs are provided a calendar at the first class and Parent Meeting.
